#7 - 🍌 Banana Funky Murales

Created on commission for Maison Mario in Berlin during my stay in Cape Town in March 2024, this painting was inspired by a new friend, South African artist Chris MacClements, whose murals across Cape Town captivated me. I wanted to translate that energy into a painting during a night of no sleep, while reflecting on an important decision in my life.

The work represents the chaos of life—the unexpected paths, the detours that often lead somewhere better than we planned. It’s about trusting the process, the force of life and nature, and embracing the flow instead of resisting it.

Lines and forms were created impulsively, colors applied intuitively, symbols that are not symbols. It is a reminder not to take life too seriously, to stay flexible, take risks, and follow curiosity, mood, and inspiration. An invitation to live in the moment, trust the unknown, and—most importantly—stay funky.
